Olivia Lasky is an Oslo-based translator and editor who focuses on Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk) to English literary translations. She also translates from North Sámi, Swedish, and Danish.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she received an M.A. in Scandinavian Studies (emphasis on Sámi/Indigenous peoples of the Arctic) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and B.A.s in Scandinavian Studies and English Literature from the University of California-Berkeley . The recipient of several translation awards, she was a mentee in the American Literary Translators Association Emerging Translator Mentorship Program in 2020 and was on the editorial staff of Tidsskriftet Mellom, a Norwegian literary journal that focuses on works in translation, from 2019-2023.

Her work has been published in journals such as Words Without Borders, The Southern Review, Two Lines Journal, and The Georgia Review and by publishing houses including Greystone Books, Arctis Books, and Harper Collins.

When not translating, Olivia also works part-time as a literary agent for Winje Agency and with marketing for the Norwegian Festival of Literature.
